FirstLight CEO and former commissioner of MassDEP call for Governor Baker to sign climate bill

In a piece in WBUR’s “Cognoscenti”, published today, FirstLight CEO Alicia Barton and former MassDEP commissioner and former President of the Union of Concerned Scientists Ken Kimmell called for Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to sign the climate bill recently passed by the Massachusetts legislature, calling it part of a “legacy of pathbreaking climate policy”, and that the governor’s signature would be a “stunning example of the bipartisan leadership that we need.”

“We are at a unique moment in our nation’s history”, they wrote, “when we are desperate for a demonstration of a bipartisan commitment to tackling our most pressing problems.” They noted that “When one state passes and proves a new policy solution, it redefines the realm of what might be possible in the other 49.”
