Fort Frances Battery Energy Storage Project
The Fort Frances Battery Energy Storage Project is a battery energy storage system (BESS) being developed by FirstLight on Municipal owned lands North-West of Fort Frances. The project will have a capacity of up to 50 MWac with a discharge duration of 8-hours. FirstLight intends to submit the project into the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Long Term energy procurement process that aims to bring new capacity online to support Ontario's forecasted economic and population growth and help integrate new renewable generation onto the network.
